On Thursday, April 3 the 6th annual Renaissance Fair was held at SMHS. This year’s event was greatly enhanced by the support of Project Sunapee and Northern Stage. Participants in the fair enjoyed a feast prepared by community volunteers in Project Sunapee. The gymnasium was transformed into a beautiful banquet hall and students tasted many delectable treats from the time period.

Students in World Civilization class created projects demonstrating features of the Renaissance period. Weapons, art reproductions, and Renaissance clothing were on display at the fair. Students also created interactive “booths” where participants could try their hand at swordfighting, juggling, or arm wrestling.

Students in English 9 performed shadow shows of scenes from Shakespeare's works. Costumes were provided for students by The Northern Stage in White River Junction, VT.
