Ben Van Paassen wins New England Swim Championship

   ---  Bengamin van Paassen, Green Mountain Aquatics swim team member and a student at Sunapee Middle High School, is the New England swim champion in the boys' age 12 category 50 breaststroke and 100 backstroke.   His top-notch performances came at the New Hampshire Swimmer Victory 12 & Under New England championships at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction, VT.

He was awarded the fifth place overall high point award.

New England Swimming involves approximately 7,900 athletes and nearly 95 teams in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Van Paassen's results were the highest for a New Hampshire or Vermont based swim team.  Each of those swims were a team record.  

He also posted three runner-up rankings in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes and the 200 IM, setting three Green Mountain Aquatics team records.

Van Paassen also earned a medal in the 100 IM, breaking a team record and the 200 backstroke.  He earned an 11th place finish in the 50 backstroke.  He also teamed up with GMA-Burlington, VT teammates Casey Keenan, Cameron Limanek and Elliot Limanek, breaking two GMA team relay records in the 200 Medley Relay and the 200 freestyle relay.
