Economics Students team up with Project Sunapee

posted Dec 11, 2013, 9:18 AM by Jonathan Reed
-- This semester students in Mrs. Reed’s Economics class have teamed up with Project Sunapee and local business owners to enhance student learning.  Students in Economics are currently creating their own plans for a business they would someday like to start.

On Tuesday, December 3, a panel of business owners spoke with the class, sharing their experiences and answering students’ questions. Then, students spent 2 days generating ideas for their own business.  On Friday, December 6, eight community members donated their time to meet with students and provide them with feedback on their ideas. Each student was able to gain feedback from 4 different people as we used a “speed dating” model.

After practicing and polishing this week, students will present their projects to community judges on December 12 and 13. Think “Shark Tank”! Students in class

will also get to weigh in on which business they might be willing to invest in, if they had the means.

Thank you to all who donated their time, and to Barbara Sullivan for all of her help in coordinating the activities!
