The Sunapee School District recently adopted a new computerized Point of Sale payment system for all school meals purchased in the district’s cafeterias. After reviewing several systems, a decision was made to purchase the NUTRIKIDS® POS System. We are currently preparing to implement this new system in our schools with a launch date of March 5, 2014.

Every student will have their own personal meal account based on their current student ID number. Students can access their accounts on the PIN pads located at every register.  We are assuming that all students know their student ID number. If not, we will be making them available to all students before we implement the system. We will have bar code cards made up for all students in grades K-12. It is strongly recommended that all students remember their number or carry the bar code card as this will make the meal lines move faster. Students may still be able to access their account if they forget or lose their bar code card or ID number.

For the first few days after the launch of the new system, our lunch lines may be slower, but as students familiarize themselves with the system, the lines should move much quicker than before. Breakfast service will be included and processed on this system as well.

Every student in the Sunapee School District has been entered into the computerized system. We strongly recommend parents/guardians deposit money into their student’s account via mySchoolBucks. The system, however, is quite flexible, and students could still pay with cash or check. If students have a balance on the current system, that balance will be transferred to mySchoolBucks when that system goes live the afternoon of March 4, 2014.

Parents are encouraged to go to www.mySchoolBucks.com and set up your child(s) account. You may place money into the account now, but it will not be available for purchasing lunches until March 5, 2014. The link to mySchoolBucks can also be found on the Sunapee School District web site’s main page.

If your child has qualified for free or reduced meal prices, this information is noted in the system, and the meal will be processed just as it is for all other students without any special indication to the students.

If you have questions, please feel free to call me at my office at 763-4627.

Thank you in advance for your patience in implementing this system. See the additional letter for establishing your mySchoolBucks account.
