NHS Helps the Newport Food Pantry

posted Mar 31, 2014, 5:52 AM by Ray Palin

Thanks to the generous donations of local businesses and individuals, and the purchase of dinners by many more individuals, the Sunapee Chapter of the National Honor Society recently raised nearly $600 for the Newport Food Pantry. The Second Annual NHS “Saturday Night Take-Out” fundraiser, which ran on Saturday March 22nd, again featured pasta, Mr. Fred’s famous marinara sauce, meatballs, bread, salad, and dessert. The family-size Italian dinners were cooked in the school’s home economics room and then delivered to customers in front of the school, drive-thru style. NHS members thank all who donated, purchased dinner, or helped in other ways.
