Print Book Preference Declining at SMHS

posted Feb 17, 2014, 12:51 PM by Web Master
From the library website: In anticipation of the new school-wide policy on personal devices, a policy which allows for the use of tablets within school, Sunapee Middle High School students were surveyed last week about their preferences concerning print books and eBooks. 192 students were emailed the survey and, after one week, 69 students expressed their opinions. The questions served as follow-up to a January 2013 survey, where both students and staff were first asked about their reading habits. One year later, it seems that preference for print books has declined and interest in reading eBooks on a personal device remains consistent–around 63%. Responses to a different question suggest that interest in eBooks might be increasing. When asked about using a potential new eBook service on one’s own device, 74% of students indicated that they would definitely or probably use the service. See the full 2014 survey results.
