-- Families and Community Together for Sunapee Students (FACTSS)

The first is November 14, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 in the SCES Library

The November 14th workshop is as follows:

The 3 Rs – Understanding Your Role, Rights and Responsibilities in the NH Special Education Process –   As members of their child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) team, parents often feel like they have more questions than answers about their role, rights and responsibilities.  Using the steps in the NH special education process as a framework, this workshop will provide participants with an “advocacy toolbox” of information, resources and organizational tools and strategies, and answers to parents’ most frequently asked special education questions.

This is generally a 2 hour workshop, childcare will be provided.

The second workshop is January 9, 2014 6:00-8:00pm in the SCES Library

Understanding Your Child’s Learning Style –

Research shows that people learn in different ways.  The question is not how smart the child is, but how the child is smart.  In this workshop, different learning styles and the theory of multiple intelligences are discussed.  Participants will receive tools to help them identify a child’s learning style and ways to support the child’s learning.

This is generally a 2 hour workshop, childcare will be provided.
